Botox® Treatment What is Botox® and How does it Work?

Botox®, a trademark for pure botulinum toxin, is recognized for its ability to relax muscles. When injected into the face muscles, it interferes with nerve signals rather than affecting the movement of muscles directly. This restriction prevents muscles from contracting, which stops the rapid movements that cause wrinkles on the skin. Botox® is frequently used to address wrinkles on the forehead, between the eyebrows, around the eyes (crow's feet), and on the lips in attempts to revitalize the appearance of the face. Beyond appearance, it is essential for TMJ and bruxism adjunct treatment, providing relief for patients with persistent face pain.

Dermal Filler

What is Dermal Filler?

Injectables are a great way to go if you're seeking a non surgical face lift or if you simply want to fill deeply set wrinkles or smooth out a few lines and wrinkles. Dermal fillers are a popular cosmetic procedure used by millions of individuals to achieve a more expressive while relaxed and smooth facial appearance.

Skin that is older begins to lose hyaluronic acid (HA)-filled collagen. Dermal fillers are utilized to treat wrinkles and loose skin as HA deficiency causes the skin to decrease in volume and structure.

Smooth injectable gels known as dermal fillers, are created from hyaluronic acid which forms naturally. Dermal fillers can encourage the growth of collagen while adding volume to facial features that have lost it. In order to restore the collagen loss that is a result of normal aging, they first plump and gently lift the skin. Additionally, dermal fillers provide the face with a more youthful, natural appearance through stimulating the body to generate its own natural collagen.

FDA-approved dermal fillers are extremely safe and less invasive. There are potential risks associated with every procedure, the most common of which are post-surgical bruising and swelling, which are normally minimal and resolve quickly.

The amount of dermal filler used is dependent on the loss of volume, and the regions that you'd like restored to their natural appearance. Dermal filler treatments typically take 20 to 40 minutes. Following treatment, improvements can be seen right away.

The results typically last from three to four months after treatment, with a smoother complexion evident three to ten days later. By repeating the process every three to four months, results can be maintained.

Trigger Point Therapy

Localized areas of tension, or painful muscle fibers are referred to as trigger points. These points can appear as a consequence of underlying medical issues, injuries, or excessive movement of the muscles. As a way to relieve pain and alleviate muscular tension, trigger point injections involve injecting medication directly into these sensitivity sites. By reducing inflammation, relaxing the muscles, and inhibiting the brain's transmission of signals for pain from the trigger points, the injected drug helps break the pain cycle. Botox® is administered precisely to the trigger points, enabling accurate pain relief and aiding in the return to regular muscle function.

What are the risks of Botox and Trigger Point Therapy?

Trigger point injections have a low likelihood of causing any problems. At the injection site, some patients may have acute discomfort, pain, or numbness.

What to expect following Trigger Point Therapy?

The relief that is experienced following the procedure may be immediate or may take a day or two to appear, depending on the ailment you are being treated for. Injectable trigger points are a temporary solution that will need follow-up visits to preserve the beneficial effects. Many individuals schedule Trigger Point Therapy sessions 2.5, to 3 months apart.

What is TMJ?

The jawbone and skull are connected by the temporomandibular joints. These joints, found at the sides of the head near each ear, are essential for speaking, eating, and creating facial expressions. The TMJ is one of the most frequently used joints in the whole body! When the temporomandibular joints malfunction, TMJ symptoms can arise. There are several reasons for this, that can lead to migraines, jaw clenching or clicking, trouble opening the mouth, and chronic ear pain.

Symptoms of TMJ

The temporomandibular joint (TMJ), which connects the upper and lower jaw, can become misaligned or overworked, resulting in TMJ syndrome. In serious circumstances, this can also result in neck and shoulder discomfort in addition to pain within the jaw and face.

There are many possibilities for TMJ treatment. Injecting Botox® into the affected area may additionally relieve this excruciating condition of the jaw and neck. This leads to a relaxation of the discomfort and pain related to the TMJ. TMJ headaches and any other pain or discomfort related to the TMJ, can be relieved with Botox®, persistent pain therapy
